Swedish championship in Night Orienteering 2008
The first of the four disciplines in the Swedish orienteering championship, Night orienteering, took place in the small town Trosa Friday 18 April 2008. The organizers, Trosabygdens Orienteringsklubb och OK Klemmingen, had chosen to build on the well established concept created by the Trosa Stadslopp, which is held every summer with start and finish at the very small market place, just outside the "City Hall". Now the competition became a combination of a night sprint and traditional night orienteering, with two rounds passing the Market Place.
450 competitors were starting in 2 senior classes: Men 21- (H21) and ladies 21-(D21) and junior classes: Men 19-20(H20), Men 17-18(H18), Ladies 19-20(D20), Ladies 17-18(D18).
The winners were celebrated just before midnight. The magic night was caught by one of the members of the organizing clubs.
